Killington 4th of July Celebration | Parade, BBQ, Live Music & Fireworks

Looking for one of the best 4th of July events in Vermont? The Town of Killington 4th of July Celebration returns Saturday, July 4, 2026, bringing a full day of family-friendly activities, patriotic traditions, and community fun to the Johnson Recreation Center and River Road. From the annual parade and community barbecues to live music and a spectacular fireworks display, this beloved holiday tradition offers something for visitors and locals of all ages.

The celebration begins with the annual Friends of the Library Book Sale at 9:00 a.m., followed by parade line-up from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. At 9:45 a.m., the community will gather at Riverside Cemetery for a special graveside acknowledgement honoring Revolutionary War veterans before the annual parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. The parade travels from the Riverside Cemetery entrance along River Road before concluding at the Johnson Recreation Center, where the day’s festivities continue.

Beginning at 11:00 a.m., Johnson Recreation Center comes alive with music provided by DJ Evan Foley while families and friends enjoy an afternoon filled with entertainment, great food, and community activities. A community barbecue featuring ice cream and desserts from KSAR will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while children can participate in the popular Kids Field Games on the soccer field at 1:30 p.m. with no registration required. Later in the afternoon, spectators can cheer on contestants during the always-entertaining Belly Flop Contest beginning at 3:30 p.m.

As the celebration continues into the evening, guests can enjoy another community barbecue from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. before settling in for live music by the Summit Pond Quartet starting at 7:00 p.m. The day concludes with one of Killington’s most anticipated holiday traditions as a spectacular fireworks display lights up the sky over Johnson Recreation Fields at 9:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and arrive early to find a great viewing spot.
