Killington Reunion Returns to Charity’s 1887 Saloon on October 18th

The Killington community is coming together once again this fall as the Killington Reunion returns to Charity’s 1887 Saloon on Saturday, October 18th. This annual gathering invites locals, longtime skiers, and past residents to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate decades of mountain memories. What started last year as a casual get-together among friends has quickly grown into a beloved community tradition that bridges generations of Killington history.

Last year’s event drew over 100 people, filling Charity’s with laughter, storytelling, and nostalgia. This year’s reunion is expected to be even bigger, welcoming anyone who’s ever called Killington home—from the ski bums of 1960s, 1970s, and 1980’s that helped shape the mountain scene through the 1980s and beyond. The event runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Charity’s (2194 Killington Road), with free admission. Light snacks and hors d’oeuvres will be available, and drinks can be purchased at the bar. Guests are encouraged to bring photos, old memorabilia, and memories to share, helping paint a collective picture of Killington’s rich past.

A special memorial corner will honor members of the Killington community who have passed, ensuring that their stories continue to inspire future generations. Among those helping host the event is Phoebe Standish, whose late husband Jack Giguere originally founded Charity’s. The venue itself is steeped in local history. Its iconic cherry wood and Italian marble bar dates back to 1887 — originally constructed in France, shipped to a saloon in Davis, West Virginia, and eventually finding its permanent home in Killington decades later.

It’s more than just an evening of nostalgia — it’s a celebration of the lasting connection between our community and the mountain we call home, Killington. As organizer Carol Moriarty told The Mountain Times, “There were at least 100 people last year — we were hugging and high-fiving, just catching up.” That same energy is sure to fill the room again this October as old friends reunite and new memories are made.

In an age of constant change, the Killington Reunion stands as a testament to the power of community and the shared pride that defines this mountain town.
