The KMBC Bike Bum Race Series returns for its 10th year, bringing one of Killington’s most popular summer traditions back to the mountain. Organized by the Killington Mountain Bike Club (KMBC), this laid-back, community-focused mountain bike race series offers a perfect midweek break for riders of all levels. Whether you’re a solo rider or part of a team, the Bike Bum Race Series combines friendly competition, great trails, and weekly après-bike parties, making it a can’t-miss event for Killington locals and visitors alike.
The 2025 series kicks off on June 18th and runs every Wednesday through August 20th. Races take place between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, with riders needing to be in line for their timed run by 4:30 PM. Each week, racers take on beginner and intermediate terrain on Upper and Lower Rabbit Hole, accessed via the Snowshed Express chairlift. Riders get one timed run per week, keeping things simple, fun, and accessible for all skill levels.
Participants can register as individuals or form teams of up to five riders, with team scoring based on the top three times each week. The full series costs $50 per individual or $200 per team, with an option to race any single week for $20.
Important: All racers must have a valid Killington Bike Park season pass or lift ticket to access the course each week.
Beyond the racing, the series includes weekly after-parties from 5:00–7:00 PM at local venues, along with prizes, giveaways, and end-of-season awards. All proceeds support trail maintenance and new trail builds through the Killington Mountain Bike Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving mountain biking in the region.
Registration is now open, and with this series’ growing popularity, riders are encouraged to sign up early through the KMBC website or directly through Zone4.
If you’re looking for a fun, relaxed way to stay active, connect with the local biking community, and enjoy summer in the Green Mountains, the KMBC Bike Bum Race Series is the perfect way to spend your Wednesdays in Killington.
