Vermont is known for its scenic drives, small-town charm, and thriving local businesses. Now, cannabis enthusiasts have a new way to experience everything the Green Mountain State has to offer through the 2026 Cannatrail Passport.
Created by the Cannabis Retailers Association of Vermont, the Cannatrail Passport transforms cannabis tourism into an adventure. Participants can pick up a free passport at participating dispensaries, travel throughout Vermont collecting stamps, and earn rewards while discovering the unique culture, communities, growers, and retailers that make Vermont’s cannabis industry special.
The program is designed to encourage exploration while supporting local businesses across the state. Rather than focusing on a single destination, the Cannatrail invites visitors and residents alike to create their own cannabis road trip, visiting dispensaries in different regions and learning what makes each location unique. From bustling downtowns and lakeside communities to mountain towns and scenic backroads, every stop offers a new experience.
The 2026 passport is organized into several themed regional routes, including the Champlain Valley Region Trail, Catamount Trail, Lamoille to Northeast Kingdom Trail, and Granite Capital Trail. Each route highlights a different part of Vermont, making it easy to plan a day trip or weekend adventure while collecting stamps along the way.
Participation is simple. Visitors can start at any participating dispensary and receive an official Cannatrail Passport. As they travel to different locations, dispensaries will add stamps to the passport. Completing designated routes and ultimately filling the entire passport unlocks rewards and entries into special giveaways.
Those who complete the full Cannatrail can earn exclusive prizes, including a limited-edition Cannatrail Tour T-Shirt, recognition in the Cannatrail Hall of Fame, and entry into a drawing for a custom one-of-a-kind Cannatrail bong created by Vermont’s renowned Bern Gallery.
One of the most appealing aspects of the Cannatrail is that no purchase is required to receive a stamp. The program focuses on exploration, education, and community engagement rather than simply shopping. Participants must be 21 years of age or older with a valid ID to take part.
As Vermont’s adult-use cannabis industry continues to grow, initiatives like the Cannatrail Passport help connect consumers with local retailers, cultivators, and communities throughout the state. Whether you’re a longtime cannabis enthusiast or simply looking for a unique way to explore Vermont, the Cannatrail offers a memorable journey that combines travel, local culture, and cannabis discovery.
For Vermonters and visitors alike, the trail is ready to be explored—one stamp at a time.
