Vermont Doubles Adult-Use Cannabis Purchase Limits

Starting July 1st, 2026, Vermont has officially increased the amount of cannabis adults can purchase in a single transaction. The updated law doubles the previous purchase limit, giving consumers more flexibility while making it easier to shop at licensed dispensaries throughout the state.

Under the new law, adults 21 years of age and older can now purchase up to 2 ounces (56 grams) of cannabis flower in a single transaction. The updated equivalency chart also increases the allowable purchase amounts for other cannabis products, including 28 grams of cannabis concentrates, 16 one gram vape cartridges, and 16,800 milligrams of THC in edible products. These changes took effect on July 1, 2026, and apply to all licensed adult-use cannabis retailers in Vermont.

For many consumers, the increased purchase limits mean fewer trips to the dispensary and greater convenience when shopping for their favorite products. Whether you enjoy flower, concentrates, vape cartridges, or edibles, the updated limits allow you to purchase larger quantities in a single visit without being restricted by the previous one-ounce transaction limit.

New Vermont Cannabis Purchase Limits

Adults 21 and older can now purchase up to:

  • 2 ounces (56 grams) of cannabis flower
  • 28 grams of cannabis concentrates
  • 16 one gram vape cartridges
  • 16,800 milligrams of THC in edible products

This update is another milestone for Vermont’s growing cannabis industry. Lawmakers have said the expanded purchase limits are intended to improve convenience for consumers, strengthen the regulated cannabis market, and encourage more purchases through licensed retailers rather than the illicit market. By making legal cannabis more accessible, Vermont continues to support a safe, tested, and regulated marketplace for adult consumers.

If you’re planning your next visit, now is the perfect time to explore everything Vermont’s licensed cannabis market has to offer. Whether you’re stocking up on premium flower, trying a new concentrate, picking up vape cartridges, or grabbing your favorite infused edibles, Vermont’s new purchase limits make it easier than ever to find the products that fit your needs.

As always, be sure to purchase from licensed Vermont dispensaries, consume responsibly, and keep cannabis products safely stored away from children and pets.
